Field Trip Grants

Working hand-in-hand with generous community, state, and national donors, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation offers transportation grants for school groups visiting the museum as funding becomes available. Winnick Family Foundation Grants

With generous support from the Winnick Family Foundation, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation provides grant funding for field trips to ALPLM for grades 4-12. These grants cover transportation costs for public and private schools who meet the following qualifications:

  • Enrollment of low-income students is greater than 30% of total school enrollment
  • Available nationwide

The Winnick Family Foundation Grant is a competitive grant. All submitted applications are evaluated using a rubric and ranked to receive funds. Schools that receive funds must visit during the award year, document how the visit aligns to state learning standards, and submit a final report within three weeks of completing the trip.

John Ullrich Foundation Grants

With generous support from the John Ullrich Foundation, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation provides transportation support for field trips to ALPLM that meet the following criteria:

  • Students on the field trip are enrolled in grades 4-12
  • The field trip originated from a public or private school in one of the following Illinois counties: Moultrie, Coles, Douglas, Macon, and Piatt

The Ullrich Foundation Grant is a competitive grant. All applications are reviewed by a team and ranked to receive funds. Grants will be awarded until the fund is exhausted. Schools that receive funds will work with ALPLM staff to schedule their museum visit, must document how the visit aligns to Illinois learning standards, and submit a final report and evaluation within three weeks of completing the trip.
